China’s lockdowns could trigger a logistic nightmare!
Due to the numerous Covid lockdowns within China, many goods are currently stuck resulting in major disruption to supply chains which is only adding further pressure not only to China’s economy but to the worlds.
With many goods that are manufactured around the world, some if not all of their components originate from China and due to these lockdowns, the world is about to see a logistic nightmare unfold. Worse than that seen in 2020 and 2021.
In the last few weeks, China has been hit with its most severe Covid outbreak since the initial pandemic in early 2020. With the city of Shanghai being amongst one of the places that have been hardest hit by this new wave of Covid resulting in a strict stay-at-home measure being implemented. Many factories are being forced to close, stopping operations and the flow of goods having a major impact on supply chains and China’s economy.
The global economy is heading for a very dark place with little or no sign of light ahead due to the ongoing war in Ukraine since late February, the many lockdowns within China and the United States rate hikes.
Will the logistics industry and our economy ever recover? Only time will tell.
